Dr. Nida Chenagtsang was born in Amdo, Tibet; a region known for centuries for its tradition of Ngakpas-Tibetan Yogis. He studied the local medical system, as well as doing intensive formal training at the Lhasa Tibetan Medical University. He has practiced in various hospitals in Tibet, and has published many works on Traditional Tibetan Medicine. He has extensively researched ancient Tibetan
medicinal treatments, specializing in the revival of external therapies, which has brought him high acclaim in the field of Tibetan Medicine in both the East and West.

Dr. Nida is the Medical Director of The Sorig Institute, as well as the International Academy for Traditional Tibetan Medicine(IATTM) and the Co-Founder of the International Ngak-Mang Institutes(NMI), established to preserve and maintain the Rebkong Ngakpa culture within modern Tibetan society. Recently he has been teaching comprehensive Tibetan Medicine courses all over the world. Fluent in English, Dr. Nida is an experienced and knowledgeable communicator with years of experience and a sophisticated ability to teach the subtleties of this traditional wisdom to Westerners.

Eric Rosenbush, LAc. has been learning and practicing traditional healing sciences since 1997, both in Asia and in the USA. This has included an independent BA degree in Ancient Religions and Sciences from UCSC, MSTCM in the study of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at ACTCM in San Francisco, and traditional study of Jyotisha with Pt. Sanjay Rath in India. Prior to beginning his formal training in Tibetan Medicine with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, he had a background in Tibetan religion, culture, and language through extended travels in the Himalayan and high plateau regions.





Dr Tenzin Yangdon graduated in 1992 from Men Tsee Khang, Tibetan medical college in Dharamsala India, she studied traditional Tibetan herbal medicine, acupuncture and holistic Tibetan healing. Dr.Yangdon practiced for many years under Doctor Kunga Gyurmey Ngarongsha (The Personal physician of " His Holiness the Dalai Lama). She travels all over Europe and United States seeing patients, teaching Tibetan healing, giving talk and presentations. She is currently available in San Francisco Bay area for general consultations and holistic Tibetan Herbal healing and therapeutic healing. She is also a Certified Acupressure practitioner from Acupressure Institute America and master herbalist. Dr. Yangdon teaches practical classes with The Sorig Institute.

Jhampa Kalsang, Ph.D., graduated in 1989 from the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute of H.H. the Dalai Lama, in Dharamasala, India. He completed a full course of study and six years of training in Tibetan studies with an emphasis on traditional Tibetan astronomy, astrology, medical astrology and Buddhist philosophy. He has been on the staff of Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute and was one of their senior lecturers.

He is a co-author of Tibetan Astronomy & Astrology and has published his book titled, Tibetan Astro Science. Mr. Kalsang resides in San Diego, California where he has a private astrology practice and travels throughout the world to lecture and teach. opened the Tibet Gift House, offering Tibetan products, classes and readings.





Lobsang Tsering currently teaches Tibetan language and helps with translation for The Sorig Institute and has over 20 years of studies in Buddhism as a fully ordained monk. He taught Tibetan language in a monastery for two years and later served as monastery administrator, and toured in various countries giving lectures about meditation, peace and arts of compassion.
He founded Tibetan Living Communities (www.tibetanlivingcommunities.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of education and medical care for Tibetans.
Currently, he is serving as executive director for Tibetan Living Communities known as TLC.






ADMINISTRATION

Tess Montalvo the Student Coordinator for the The Sorig Institute and has been studying Tibetan Medicine with Dr. Nida since 2007. She is a mother and an Ayurvedic Practitioner currently living in the Sierra Foothills. Tess graduated from the California College of Ayurveda, and the Institute of Vedic Studies. She has training in Pancha Karma Chikitsa and has assisted teaching Ayurvedic External Body Therapies. She has studied with various vaidyas of Ayurveda in India and U.S., and trained in an Ayurvedic Hospital in India. Currently she is pursuing advanced studies and clinical practice with Punarvasu Ayurveda Prabodhini & The Global Ayurveda Foundation in Pune, India.is

Laura Nasca a Founding Member and Treasurer of The Sorig Institute. She graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a BA in Psychology and Politics. Her interest in Natural Medicine began three years ago with the Ohlone Center for Herbal Studies where she completed the Apprenticeship Program in Western Clinical Herbalism with Pam Fischer. She is also a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher as taught by Yogi Bhajan, PhD. Laura volunteers as a Western Clinical Herbalist at the Charlotte Maxwell Complimentary Clinic.is

Ann Sullivan is the Seattle representative for The Sorig Institute. She is a Western Herbalist, and has a Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon and is the Seattle coordinator for The Sorig Institute. She has studied sacred plant based shamanism in Peru and learned ceremony songs of the Inca. It was in Peru where she found a link between ceremony and the spiritual traditions of Tibet. She has studied Mayan ceremony and healing in Mexico with the Four Winds Society and has studied energy medicine and hands on healing through her own personal research and practice. She is currently studying 5 Element Acupuncture in Seattle WA, Tibetan Medicine with The Sorig Institute, and continues to study healing plants and spiritual traditions and beliefs.
